This policy explains what personal information Cyberunite collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. It covers this website, our client portal, and the products we build and operate for clients.
What this covers
This policy applies to everything Cyberunite provides — this website, our client portal, and every product and service line we deliver or operate:
- Web Development
- AI & AI-Powered Apps
- AI Fine-Tuning & Integrations
- Mobile App Development
- Web3 & Blockchain
- Crypto Apps & Exchanges
- Software & SaaS
- Branding & UI/UX Design
- Cloud & Hosting
- ICT Training
It applies whether the work is delivered as a one-off project, an ongoing retainer, a hosted subscription or a training course, and whether you reach us through this site, the portal, a mobile app we publish, or a contract signed directly with us.
Who we are
Cyberunite is the data controller for the information described here. Our registered address is No. 09 Adebayo Rufai Street, Itire, Mushin, Lagos, Nigeria. and our contact address for data matters is info@cyberunite.com. Where we build or run a product for a client, that client is usually the controller and we act as their processor — in that case their own privacy notice governs the data, and ours covers only what we hold directly.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, telephone number, company details and anything you write in an enquiry, proposal or support message.
- Client portal data. Your account details, the projects and tasks we share with you, files you upload, comments you post, and invoices raised against your contracts.
- Technical information. IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring pages, and the pages you view. This is collected through server logs and, where you consent, analytics.
- Correspondence. Emails and messages you exchange with us, kept as a record of what was agreed.
We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health, biometric, political or religious information) and ask that you do not send it to us.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer enquiries and provide quotes — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To deliver a project and run your portal account — performance of our contract with you.
- To invoice you and keep accounting records — performance of our contract, and our legal obligation to retain financial records.
- To keep our systems secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in protecting our service and our clients.
- To send updates about work in progress — performance of our contract.
- To send marketing — only with your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate — hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, payment processing and accounting. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions.
- Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where needed.
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.
- A buyer, if the business or part of it is sold, under the same protections described here.
Where a provider is outside the UK or EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision or on Standard Contractual Clauses with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects — 24 months, then deleted.
- Client records, contracts and project files — for the life of the relationship and 7 years afterwards.
- Invoices and financial records — 7 years, as required by tax law.
- Portal accounts — until you ask us to close the account, then deleted within 30 days except where we must keep financial records.
- Server logs — 90 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email info@cyberunite.com — we will respond within 30 days and will not charge you.
See also our Account & Data Deletion page for the quickest route to removing your account.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Security
We protect data in transit with TLS, store passwords only as salted hashes, restrict access to those who need it, keep private files outside the public web root, and apply security updates promptly. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these obligations seriously and will notify you and the ICO of any breach that presents a risk to you, within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
Children
Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be notified to clients directly.
