We want you to be satisfied with the work. This policy explains when a project can be cancelled, what is refundable, and how refunds are handled. It applies alongside your contract; where the contract says something different, the contract governs. Nothing in it removes rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
What this covers
This policy applies to everything Cyberunite provides — this website, our client portal, and every product and service line we deliver or operate:
- Web Development
- AI & AI-Powered Apps
- AI Fine-Tuning & Integrations
- Mobile App Development
- Web3 & Blockchain
- Crypto Apps & Exchanges
- Software & SaaS
- Branding & UI/UX Design
- Cloud & Hosting
- ICT Training
It applies whether the work is delivered as a one-off project, an ongoing retainer, a hosted subscription or a training course, and whether you reach us through this site, the portal, a mobile app we publish, or a contract signed directly with us. We serve clients in Nigeria and abroad; this policy applies to all of them.
The principle
You pay for work performed. If we have not done the work, you should not be out of pocket — and if we have done it, it is payable. Everything below follows from that.
Deposits and upfront payments
- Deposits reserve capacity in our schedule and cover the discovery and planning that begin immediately.
- Cancel within 7 days of paying, before work has started — full refund.
- Cancel after work has started — we refund the deposit less the work completed and any costs already committed on your behalf, itemised for you.
Milestone and fixed-price projects
- Completed and accepted milestones are not refundable.
- For a milestone in progress, we invoice the proportion completed and refund the rest.
- Milestones not yet started are refunded in full.
- You receive the work produced up to the cancellation point, on payment of what is due.
Time and materials
Billed for time actually worked, evidenced by timesheets. Cancel at any time with 30 days' notice; you pay for time worked up to the end of the notice period and nothing beyond it.
Retainers and recurring fees
- Cancel with 30 days' written notice before the next renewal.
- The current period is payable in full — retainers reserve capacity we cannot resell at short notice.
- Fees already paid for future periods are refunded in full.
- Unused hours in a retainer period do not roll over and are not refundable unless your contract says so.
Hosting, domains, email and third-party services
Domain registrations are non-refundable once purchased — registries, including the .ng registry, do not reverse them. Third-party licences and subscriptions bought on your behalf follow the supplier's own refund rules, which we will pass on in full. Hosting and business email paid annually are refunded pro rata for complete unused months.
Training courses
- More than 14 days before the start date — full refund.
- 7 to 14 days before — 50% refund, or transfer to a later course at no charge.
- Less than 7 days before, or non-attendance — no refund, because the place and the trainer's time are already committed. You may send a substitute at no extra cost.
- If we postpone or cancel a course — full refund, or a free transfer, whichever you prefer.
- Course materials already issued are not refundable once accessed.
Web3, blockchain and crypto work
Some costs in this work are irreversible once incurred and cannot be refunded by us or anyone else:
- On-chain transaction and gas fees.
- Smart contract deployment costs.
- Token, domain or protocol registration fees paid to a third party or a network.
- Exchange listing or audit fees paid to external providers.
We will tell you before committing any such cost, and we itemise them separately from our own fees. Our development time is refundable on the same terms as any other project work; the network and third-party costs are not. We do not make refunds in cryptocurrency — an approved refund is paid in the currency the invoice was raised in.
If the work is not right
Tell us. In the review period for any deliverable we will correct anything that does not match the agreed scope, at no charge — that is the first remedy, and it resolves nearly everything. If we cannot bring a deliverable to the agreed scope after a reasonable opportunity to fix it, we will refund the fee for that deliverable.
A refund is not available for a change of mind about work that matches what was agreed, for delays caused by materials or approvals we were waiting on, or for a request to redo work to a new brief — those are changes, and we will quote for them.
If we cancel
If we end an engagement for a reason that is not your breach — capacity, a conflict, or an inability to deliver — you receive a full refund of fees for work not completed, and we will help hand over what exists to another supplier.
How to request a refund
- Email info@cyberunite.com with your invoice number and what you would like refunded and why.
- We acknowledge within 2 working days and respond in full within 10 working days, with a written breakdown of the calculation.
- Approved refunds are paid within 14 days, in the currency invoiced, to the account the payment came from. Bank transfers — domestic or international — may take a few days longer to appear, and we cannot refund to an account in someone else's name.
Where tax was charged on the original invoice, we issue a credit note so your own records and returns stay correct.
If you disagree with the outcome
Ask for it to be reviewed by a director, setting out why. We will look again and give you a final written answer. If you are still not satisfied, you may refer the matter to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at fccpc.gov.ng, or pursue the dispute route in our Terms of Service. Nothing here affects your rights under Nigerian law.
